Anyone can make proposals for game mechanisms to be implemented here. It should be noted that although i may discuss issues, there is _no_obligation to implement them.

Also just because they in this section does not mean that they will be implemented, if noone shows interest in an idea then it will be left.

Since I don't appear to be able to raise new topics I will put it in here.

The current "On Patrol" function is considerably less than adequate. Apparently if a ship that is moving as part of a patrol group does not "see" the Admiral's ship it does not stop if the Admiral's ship is stopped. We need a way whereby patrolling ships work together, this would need some way of indicating which ship they are working with as their fleet/squadron commander, ensuring that the Group command ship moves first (sequencing) and polling the command ship each time they are moved to see if their support/defend list should be triggered. Additions of this nature would make offensive patrolling a viable option instead of the hit and miss affair it is at present.

Logically the patrolling ships would be in communication and the admiral would order a "stop and fight" to the ships in his flotilla if the situation warranted it.

Hi Geoff

This was fixed in the last update by David. If a ship becomes involved in a battle it becomes sensor opaque ie it can always be scanned. Any ship following will automatically stop for battle (as long as you have the combat options selected naturally)

That was quick<g>. I had better read through the changes again and see what else I missed. Better sequencing would be nice so we could have more than one admiral leading (possibly in different directions) in a turn file. Not sure how the "sequence after" works if you have more than 1 file submitted for processing on the same day.

Geoff

If you have one turn file it's easy. The order the ships appear in the editor is the order they are processed in so you do not need to do sequence after in one turn file - just write them in the correct order.

If you have a second turn file with warships following an admiral in the first file then just use sequence after the admiral and you'll be ok.

I too am unable to start a new topic.

Would KJC be willing to group trade items in starbase reports by Life (non-perishable), Life (perishable), Non-Life (non-perishable), Non-Life (perishable)?

It would be a big help to me and, I presume, others who haven't the time, ability, and/or inclination to memorize all the trade goods.

They are colour-coded that way: Green/Yellow/Blue/Red.

However: the ability to filter on these on the market pages, especially the overall list, would be a nice-to-have.

As would making the location system name a web link to the system map, or at least putting the orbital quadrent in the location information - it's a pain going backwards and forwards between the system map and market pages, while working out if you have enough TU's to snap up that bargain, without leaving yourself vulnerable to pirate attack.

perhaps a system map, which you could press, which would show you the total market in that one system and still retain the currently total list of all systems.

That would help you to narrow down markets.

And on the total list of goods that is around now, should inform you of systems even if just a number with starbase name and number.

And if a system list is made, then it should with starbase name refer to location, like D5, then you can find the planet at least smile.gif

I'd also like the markets pages and the starbase reports to tell us which trade goods corresponded with a planets trade, drugs and life/infrastructure needs.

Not when you get your results in raw text they aren't. I can't speak to the HTML format.

Ah, I see. Misunderstood 'Starbase report'.

Yes, it would be useful.

I think it would be a useful addition for Starbase reports to show the current crew factors they have and the amount they require to use all equipment.

I'd love to see a seperate module report like we have for resource and ores.
