| Just thought I'd put this poll in here as there has been some off-list discussion about it and I'm curious what others think. Rich Fanning | |||

Whilst I would vote yes, I have a horrible feeling closing it would simply have it spill into other topics

| Hi, I think this should be closed as the same old people are going on the same old subjects. It's bad enough with the KJC yahoo group without it spilling over into this area !! Luke | |||

| I've voted no.Yes the thread has become personal in some places! The rest of us have just got to encourage those members to try to remember this is a discussion forum concerning the rules and not a place for IC/OOC grivences to be aired. Every player has the right to express their views good or bad about the game here, but we have to keep it constructive. If we all remember that we'll all get along..OOC at least! | |||

While Teds opionion is normally the correct one, certain people are abusing this right. Slagging matches have no place here.

| I'm finding it very hard to see the conversation as constructive any longer. The one particular player who provides the destrcutive end of the conversation should be heavily moderated/banned. I can see a lot of sensibe ideas and discussions flowing around, with no chance to be thoroughly explored before the conversation is hi-jacked. I really want to hear from newer players and thier experiences/ideas, as well as from longer playing memebers with their knowledge. At the moment I feel we are forced to hear a very one-sided view of the game. | |||

| Nobody forces anybody to read anything, on this forum or any other. Closing the original thread is fine, I requested it; But using this spin-off thread to comment on the person or persons on the original thread is Waaay out-of-order, I think. Especially as it is not totally clear on who you are on about. At the moment, we have a six-month "experienced" player, who has taken over part of the resources of one of the most powerful groupings in the game, accusing a four year player, who has started his own affiliation with NOTHING he didn't build/trade/research under his own efforts, after first raising the requisite million stellars, of 'wanting something for nothing', and "Must learn patience". I have other senior players lecturing about how interation between players is at the heart of the game. If so, given some of the 'in character' communications I received recently, I think the game is in serious trouble, becuse it's turning into the diplomacy level of 'Risk', player-fantasy strategy notwithstanding. The situation is wierd - we have basic, core functionality of the game which undeisputably doen't work, whole areas which have been completely neglected, and we are still getting "urgent" combat changes. I would be pleased to be banned from thus forum, but failing that, the way to go is actually propose something constructive? Or at least dont trot out the same old "wants something for nothing" rubbish, because I cant let that stand, sorry. TonyH | |||

| that's twice you've asked to be banned from somewhere - here and the yahoogroup forum... if you're so desperate to not contribute positively, why not just unsubscribe? Dan | |||

Hi,
I understand the frustration you must feel over this. Starting from nothing would/ will be very difficult if no-one helped you but this player "inheriting" the major assets of an AFF, after such a short while, would upset a player with your circumstances. But has this player played in the past? We know many players who played BSE and stayed in the game when Phoenix came in to being, I myself played BSE back in th '90's, but I don't expect things to be handed to me on a tray. I'm not saying you do either, but if this is the case or not, there's not much you can realistically do about the other player's "good fortune". Apart from speaking with Mica about it ( if he has the time now ), that is just the way the cookie crumble's

| I voted to close this thread for the very same reason I left the yahoo forum... Too much bull was being thrown and I would end up wading through hip-high in order to find a ahemm "real" message. Larry aka Phoenix Hawk |
