| I was wondering whether recreation complexes, like merchandising complexes, should have a weekly revenue from the local population - and not just generate cash from visiting positions? It occurs to me that if I was a colonist heading into a starbase to get the monthly supplies, that I'd be tempted to make use of the bars/hotels/casino's/houses of ill-repute that the recreation complexes presumably represent, because just like crew it would be an opportunity for some R&R from serious graft on the homestead. Similarly a starbases' own employees would presumably also be tempted to spend a bit of their hard earned wages (ie; the Friday/saturday night Galactic beer binge) Whilst we could assume that for the most part the planetary population live in communities with their own recreation facilities (ie; the local pub), it seems likely to me that if they have made the trip in to a starbase to buy/sell goods, that they would be likely to 'live a little' in the big city, before returning to the drudgery of their normal surroundings. Or - is it simply a case for game purposes - that this is considered to be part of the merchandising revenue? | |||

hehe - make them work their guts out for just a single stellar per week and then snatch their wages back again through your casino's, leaving their poor families to go hungry... are you in the FET? | |||

| I think the recreation from the local population can be considered in the merchandising value for a planet / starbase. The merchandising values seem pretty fair at the moment so I would hate to change them. Andy |
