Why has my first turn come back saying that I'm a member of the Felini affiliation?

As to your question, you are automatically assigned to a random affiliation upon joining the game. You are free to stay with that affiliation or choose to join another.
If you choose to stay with the assigned, I suggest you contact your affiliation people immeditately (links can be found both in your turn and on the Kjcgames web site.
If you desire to join another, make sure you issue orders for your position to:
a. Leave Affiliation #__
b. Join Affiliation #__
(note even Inds have an affiliation #.
