While I realise that the mailing lists are generally full of rants, arguments and other IC chat, should we add a new category to this forum for just this purpose. It would certainly allow threats to remain untangled.

Yes I think that this would be a good thing, especially if it can be kept IC through out. One of the things that comes up quite often is the problem between OOC and IC and this would maybe help this out. This Board is linked with your main website so it would give new players a chance to see some IC stuff. The troubles I can see are that people would have to check 2 places to see what has always been in one place and also there could be 100's of different topics in a very short time. Easy to miss one that involves you ![]() I would be in favour though..... Cheers Jons - SMS

Nope I think the Phoenix yahoo list should be the only place for IC stuff. Some of it gets into SSS,so players not on the list will see it. No need for it here. And how the hell do you get the similies into these messages?????

I don't think that this would be a useful addition. While threads may be untangled to begin with, I am sure that they will very quickly become tangled as threads veer off on tangents. And the need to check here as well as on the mailing list for IC threads would just be a pain. It's like the previous proposals to split the mailing list into IC and OOC: I am not in favour. The presence of this forum has already done that to some extent, and I am still not entirely sure I like that fact. Richard AFT PS. Ted, with your cursor at an appropriate point in the message, click on one of the smilie icons to the left. ![]() ![]()

WOW!! Did the AFT just give some advice for FREE?! Must be loosing their touch ![]() I'm against an IC list here. I much prefer mailouts rather than trudging through a website to follow threads. I also like to keep certain emails from the Yahoo forum and currently I just drag&drop them - a board here would be horrid docs that I cut&paste to ![]()

I think I'll stop giving my opinion on things on this board, I always seem to get shot down in flames ![]() Yes I do agree with Clay that the e.mail format is much easier to store and/or cut and paste to members of my Aff (not all of whom are on the forum) Cheers Devils Advocate - SMS

When I try to inset a smilie to my message all I get is the description and no icon, what am I doing wrong?? ![]()

Forget that last one, figured it out ![]()

Well I for one hate this forum, stumbled on this post by chance, I have no idea whats going on here half the time, and people keep tellign me all sorts of stuff I want to comment on and can't cos this is the stupidest thing around in my opinion. If this ever came to be the main area for IC and general Communications I would quit as I can't use this as it sucks. Rant over Phil

I'm going to agree and dissagree to certain extents with the stuff said here. ![]() I think this forum is excellent for discussion OOC game issues. The number of benefits with the forum are obvious (neat thread based discussions, rapid response, etc.). However, that being said, it would be good if any game modifications were anounced on the mailing list too. As for a specific section here for IC stuff. I think the mailing list serves this purpose much more effectively. Summary, OOC discussion here good (though announcements on the mailing list is needed), IC stuff best on mailing list (how could an IC discussion be kept to a thread!!!). My 5p's worth....

I totyally agree that this is not the place for IC comments or opinions. The other one is more than adequate. As for those that cannot tell the difference between IC and OOC, tough. Just don't take anything as if it were OOC personal ![]() Geoff |
