| Hi, I was wodering if anyone could spread some light on 'prospecting' for me. Here's the scenario... I set up a ground party, gave it an exploration unit and set it to prospect the same square that i have an outpost in... I would have expected results in close relation to that which is on the outpost printout (this was mainly a dummy run - I'm new to ground parties and prospecting and this was a sort of test go). Here's what i got: Outpost reads: MINERAL ID YIELD 10% DROP SIZE | | Hydrocarbons (3) 474 47.679 15 Infinite | | Metals (1) 75429 53.988 16 Infinite | | Basic Elements (2) 61648 57.086 24 Infinite The ground party turn returns: Hydrocarbons (3) detected (Resource ID = 58380) Yield: 2.13 10% Drop: 24 Quantity: Infinite Dispersion: 50% Metals (1) detected (Resource ID = 92502) Yield: 65.56 10% Drop: 21 Quantity: Infinite Dispersion: 44% Total TU cost for this action is 200 Why are the two results so different (minerals present/yield/10%drop/ID etc etc number are all different) Am I being stupid? Should these two results be related? All help / advice appreciated. GTDoug. | |

| are you sure that both the outpost and gp are in the same sector? | |

| The GP is currently docked with the outpost... So it's gotta be in the same square... GTDoug. | |

| There is a bug in the prospect routine if you are docked it seems to look at 0,0. I'll ammend it. It should work fine if you are not docked and it will work when the next update occurs. | |
