I was just wondered how the seeding of new players was done? (apart from randomly tongue.gif )

Apart from one guy in the states who would never answer any mails sent to him and then dropped out, I haven't seen anybody join my AFF in the last 18 months. Have the new recruits really been that few and far between?

Cheers

I know someone who picked DTR and get moved into the FCN..... he is playing only his starter ship and enjoying himself.. so, its looks like its really random.

I also wish that unused starter ships gets destroyed if they aren't used.. Prodis got an big list of ships docked.. but all of them are there for a long long time... My hope was they get destroyed some time ago, but the restore to 100% integrity set it back for almost two years.

I think that there are enough affs who could use more players...

Why not just send a warning message to each one and then add them to the enemy list a month or so later? :-)

I don't want to waste valuable ammo on them..

Since I became Swarm Lord of the Hive we have only had two new recruits, and at the moment they only play their starting ships. Many players have been seeded in the Hive but except for the two mentioned above and one that wanted to be DTR none have answered my mails. I get the impression that many join but never start playing. Some have even used fake names and e-mails?

I have written a pretty large players guide, even with examples of how to do the first turn and much other information to make it easier to get into the game. But I have only tested it on one player yet, he liked it very much though... biggrin.gif

We generally get around 25 start-ups per week. They are seeded into affiliations providing the affiliation has supplies KJC with details of the starbase in Yank or Skord that is suited.
People cannot be seeded into an affiliation if we do not have these details even if the prospective player chooses the affiliation (DTR elected not to have people start up in their affiliation, hence their starting starbase location was removed from the list).
The SMS are still not on the list - hence never have had a startup.
I'm pretty certain we covered this over a year ago.

Bugger, I thought we just needed to have a starbase in Yank to be included (and we have 2 of them). I'll speak to Mick (SMS PD) when he is back tomorrow and check that we want new players but can you (for the sake of people who walk around with their eyes closed, ie me) let me know what I have to do if he confirms it please?

Cheers

Just email me the number of the Yank starbase that you want to use.
