I was under the impression designed where linked to blueprints? but i have two ships with the same design number, Pioneer (190) Class, however one has normal hulls and the other light hulls. I know you can refit a ship with different items but i thought the hulls were fixed so can someone explain to me how it actually works?

I've seen similar in that we have a BP that says mkII hulls but all the ships we have built of that design are mkI hulls. All I can assume in our case is that someone got the BP changed (by Mica) at some point after the first batch were built. The daft thing is we didn't have mkII of that particular hull until fairly recently so the BP was useless... If Mica didn't change the original then I don't know what happened. Mind you, what might have happened with yours is that during conversion some BSE ships were converted to normal and some to light. I think the players got to choose at conversion, but not certain. Do their positions numbers suggest they were BSE? (fairly low, up to 4 digits I think) Edit: Yes, hulls and armour type (and mk) remain fixed from construction whatever you do (sadly). Although you might get away with it with a Special Action? Who knows...

Yes the numbers look low enough, must be a conversion issue as you say. Well that clears that up thanks ![]()

I can only guess it's something to do with leftover legacy ships. There are a fair few 'baseship' class vessels still floating around, although our actual Phoenix-era BPs don't use that name at all. And of those 'Baseship' class, there are heavy, normal and light hull variants... ![]() |
