I saw this on another game I play and I liked the idea. Basically you just post something here as a quick congrats to a player (or GM/coder) for a specific action or quote, or whatever. It's often too easy to moan or complain about things, or just to see the negatives, but we all keep playing the game so we must enjoy it! Come on, share... Leave IC and political bias/boundaries at the door and just praise something you enjoyed seeing/hearing while playing the game. It might work, it might not, but I thought it was worth a try.

I'll open it with congrats (again) to Weenie for her trade run above and beyond the call of profit in Hydrae. Description here

my first vote would have to be for pirate large who, annoying as he is, added a lot of colour to the game during the slow periods ![]()

This is an excellent idea. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. Bruce

Pirate Large aye! Great stuff. Also I'd like to bring back a favourite topic of mine as some newer players might have missed it. Still hilarious and top marks to finalstryke for even trying such a ridiculous thing! Captain Penguin! (How's he doing btw?)

I would like to thank the players who "haunt" mIRC #phoenix who have helped me and kept me interested in the game for over 2 years! There are too many to mention but they include Steve Law, Kurik, Dan Larsen, Ron Bond and Mojo amongst others. And hear hear to Pirate Large (I'm not only saying this because my ship escaped his clutches...). A worthy replacement for those who miss Mad Max! cheers weenie

I'd like to praise Mica and David and everybody else at KJC - I was just (out of curiousity) looking at the US BSE and it's amazing how primitive it is, with manual turn sheets and without all the nice little touches like "move to starbase" that stop it becoming a tedious mechanical exercise. It really made me appreciate what we've got in Phoenix; so - Cheers!

Captain Penguin is alive and well, and I believe he has magically transformed into a Naplian.

I would nominate Simon for the work he is doing with SSS

I second that.He's doing a great job ![]()

From a player point of view, I am quite happy that the IMP, GTT, FET, GCS, DEN and DOM have got their act together and produced a concerted attack on the DTR. This ought to be the major political earthquake the game really needed, especially if some of the larger affiliations get bombed back into the stone age. I believe that makes FEL the next candidate for a beating :-)

I would agree that Simon's work in producing SSS is definitely worthy of praise. The effort required to produce something that is more than just copying posts from the forum is, I am sure, not inconsiderable, especially with the commitment to doing it each and every week. Well done Simon. Richard AFT

Okay Steve, I've just gotten on the forum. I havn't been using it so its like new to me. Thats my story. Now, concerning you: What I like about Steve Lawrence besides his last name, is he can be a vicious antagonist in game play but when not playing he is a gentleman and probably the most helpful person in the game. Colin Locke, if you're reading this, we both know whose "really" the most helpful! <g> seriously, Thanks Steve clif

Hi, Thanks for mentioning my work on the SSS. The praise is much appreciated. ![]() And Richard, yup, the effort is not inconsiderable. But, it's an important thing I think, and I'm pleased to be doing it well. - Simon. |
