It'd be unimaginably excellent if the online order editor allowed you to download your list of positions for plugging straight into the offline editor. (Or anybody fancy writing a scraper to do it from the information tab?)
Steve-Law
I believe David mentioned looking at this at some point, but obviously a lower priority.

A little exe to grab a list of your positions and build an assets.cfg file for the offline editor, note that this will just overwrite any data you have there currently and doesn't work out details like ISR speed, location etc etc, just type, name and number. smile.gif

Compiled program ready to run, pretty straight forward, asks for user/pass and a location to save the data to (defaulting to C:\Program Files\Skeletal\Phoenix\assets.cfg), then click the only button.
Position Grabber (zip - 49.3k)
Position Grabber (tar.gz - 49.2k)
Both contain the same thing, just whichever format you prefer. Note that this has only been tested on my pc under windows xp.

Source code & visual studio project file for any that are intressted, needs tinyxml to compile.
Position Grabber C++ source code (tar.gz - 20.6k)

When I try to unzip the downloaded Zip file one, I get a bad file offset issue. Can you rezip and put up again?

Thanks.

Sure smile.gif

Two new links, one is a rezip one is the raw exe file. the exe is over twice the size though so please only use that as a last resort.

Had the same problem with the new zip file, but downloaded the exe and it seemed to work fine. Thanks for the help.

Is there a new version of this Executable? The old one doesn't seem to work any longer.

Thanks.

I'll try and look into this weekend, didn't realise it stopped working sad.gif

Excellent. I believe it has to do with the web address change. The change from cgi.kjcgames.com to ccgi.kjcgames.com instead. Unfortunately I can't recompile the source, so I was not able to check my theory.

Thanks!

Yup that was it, and the fact cargo dumps where ignored.

Changes:
* moved from cgi.kjcgames.com -> ccgi.kjcgames.com
* supports 'CARGO DUMP' positions and saves as debris (6) for the assets file, only because i couldn't see the cargo dump type number thing.

almost perfectly ph34r.gif

It grabbed all the positions, but set starbases and my political as position type ship. outposts were set properly though.

Nice touch adding "STARBASE" in front of the base names btw

Although i'd love to take credit, thats actually a bug smile.gif

If it gets confused as to the position type it defaults to ship and adds the type found to the name.

I'll have to step through to work out why it doesn't understand starbase though, however I'll also add an option so Starbase is still added to the name if you want.
ptb
All done, i replaced the files so the last set of links still work.

I even added a 'prefix starbase names' checkbox for Dan to keep the STARBASE before his starbases smile.gif
