I have a couple questions about shuttle capable troops:

1) Can a shuttle capable unit, assault tanks for example, land on an enemy starbase that still has active armed platforms protecting it?

2) Can assualt tanks (or other shuttle type units) move anywhere within an orbital quad (like shuttle complexes can move product)?

Thanks

The answer to 2 I'm pretty certain is yes. I've definitely moved a shuttle GP through an orbital quad before, to reach different planets within that quad. I can't imagine assault tanks would work differently. But, I've never actually tried it, so I don't know for sure.

1) depends if it gets pinned on not - in new rules depends if it gets stopped for combat

2) The shuttle GP can only move between planets that are orbiting each other. They cannot move between planets in the same quad that are not in orbit of the other one

Andy: Thanks for this clarification, especially #2.... Are you certain of this?

Andy
100% certain

I've had to get Mica to unlinked moons back into planet orbits so I can use shuttle ports before now wink.gif

Moons that should have been in orbit that is

I have to disagree with Andy, I've managed to move between planets that are in the same OQ. You have to move into the OQ first to do this.

Andy is correct in that you can only move directly between orbits without entering the OQ if the planets and moons are linked. If they are not, then Nic is correct and that you can move between orbits but only via the OQ.
