From what Mica recently said, then are there tons of unique goods around and most likely also common trade goods, but they are not being sold, so what is people planning, to trade internally only?

If this is what is happening, we need to find other ways to boost trade, because if we all are doing this, then will trade more or less die out later on, when reserves are gone and to many unique specials only produce a few hundreds a week.

To begin with, i think its a mistake, that trade goods are not classed to races, only a few items are now, but most are not, but from info about the Falconians, i know they would not belong on clothing and anything else clothing based like that, except fur, but not as a race item, just a unique item, unique or common, also do they prefer meat over vegetable and grain, so why would they buy unique of kinds they dislike and perhaps add items that race is not interested in ever, with FCN that must be clothing items. unless fur or plumage made, they can just accept that <g>

So perhaps an overhaul based on how races would be like, perhaps change some races, i dont mind if FCN are changed to like berries instead, as long as it gets sorted out smile.gif

Lets use meat products, one is own by a CNF starbase, they are humans, with no preference, so the normal unique price for them, but Felini, Dewiek and Falconians gets increased as race, means they would prefer to sell it now, instead of using it themselves.
While on the other hand, unique clothing would be more for humans, so Dewieks, Felini and Falconians would prefer selling it to humans.

Would like to hear what others have to say here as well or if you got any suggestions, then lets hear.

and an item can have several races or a bunch of them even smile.gif

also after considering it, i think its better to also reclass humans into the groups they are, Imperials, Confederates, Detinus and Humans.

Mainly because Confederates taste are most likely different from Imperials, even if both groups are humans, its more culture differences smile.gif

Not sure how much of this is simple to do, so would like to hear from Mica and David on this.

I quite agree that trade isn't particularly booming at the moment.

This was discussed a bit at the recent pubmeet. The general view seemed to be that at the moment, everybody has large stockpiles, of ores, of patches, of trade goods, and especially of stellars. Over the next few months those stockpiles will start running out, and then people will find that trading becomes more necessary!

Yes, a lot of the unique specials only produce small quantities a week. This is deliberate, especially for the higher value items. There are many lower value origin-specific items which produce can produce large amounts; Eridani Pickled Fish are a good example!

I think you are right that adding more in the way of race specifics to trade goods sales would make things more interesting. As far as I am aware planetary populations and their characteristics (including the things they will buy) is an area that Mica and David are working on, though it quite possibly won't actually come in until the next major update :-(.

I'm in agreeement with you guys, I think adding more racial specifics to trade goods would be a good thing.

The Race preference is good but we need to have it taken futher, basically a race as three states with regards to goods: like, neutral, dislike. The current system handles neutral very well and like somewhat well in my opinion.

What we need it the Race field removed from items and a Like and Dislike fields added that can have multiple races listed in. And all trade items reviewed and adjusted for racial perferences. So we could have say Mnemosyne Krill that is liked by Hive, disliked by Dewiek & Naplians, and neutral with regards to the other races. On a world that was 100% Hive pop it would say at x2 of it's local value, but on a world that was 100 Dewiek it would sale at x0.5 of it's local value.
