Since I was not around during the conversion, I may have missed a few things. In the old BSE, (found an active site on the net), the rules state that it is possible for a ship to tow another ship providing it has tractor beams. 3 questions (all depending on the first) ![]() ![]() ??? ![]() ![]()

Towing is not in the game. This said, should a ship have enough cargo space, it can actually pick another ship up. I know that there are players using a hauler with a handful of yachts within designed for system exploration.

Well can you please add in back in?

Towing was never in the game. It could only be done through a special action.

Can it still be done through a special action?

With changes to the way movement works, i.e. ISR fields, I do not like the idea of towing positions. It does not sit well with the general theories and background. This is not to say that it should not be included for manoeuvring. Then is it is a simple case of adding the mass of the towed object to that of the tug in order to calculate the speed. But then we have the problems inherent in integrity losses.... ![]()

Oh, yeah the ingame physics of the ISR explaination does kinda preclude it, maybe its something that could be added as a new advanced technology to research. |
