I have seen a lot of questions from players dealing with SA that were done in BSE and because of many factors, the Starbases or Outposts where they first took place had to become inactive. As players start converting the Outposts back to Starbases, is there any method to update this data into the Phoenix information system? (I've got about 20 pages of old action results....) ![]()

There are two ways, basically. The first is to have a starbase on the world use the 'Investigate Blurb' order, giving the title of the old SA result and the first few words of the text. This is automated, so the match must be exact. If the old result has been copied incorrectly by hand, or if spelling errors have been corrected, etc, then the order will fail. There is a stellar fee for failed attempts. The other way is to use a special action, which is of course more expensive. However, you can often convert existing resources into unique trade goods with one SA. For example if, you have a BSE result describing a source of luxury food, you may be able to do a single SA and get the Phoenix details for a unique food item. If the outpost is already exploiting the resource (because it was at the time of the conversion), then you have the id number so you can continue to use it, but there is no way to get the details (10% drop, regrowth rate etc) without using one of the methods above. rob

Unfortunately I've still never managed to get the 'Investiagte Burb' order to successfully identify a SA result. Darren

I have - although there have been a fair number of failures. One problem I've found is that you have to keep any previous spelling mistakes as they were - so (if like me) your using data from other people you're a tad shafted and will need to re-do the studies. However, as mentioned earlier, the benefit is that you may get a few uniques items out of it |
