More and more players seem to be having regular, or occasional problems with turns getting through to KJC on time via email.

Personally I blame the SPAM traffic, but that's besides the point.

Most of the time this is just a pain, and annoying, but occasionally it could be more important (such as reiforcements failing to support your fleet, that deal you promised not going through at the time to guarenteed, etc.).

What I was thinking is that it might be useful to have an alternative method of sending turns to KJC.

I thought a simple file upload webpage would do it. I believe the online editor does this, but I don't really want to have to use the online editor, but I might sometimes use a web upload if I want to make sure a turn gets through on time.

(A quick parse of the turn file could extract the password/positions numbers and verify against a password/position database to maintain security, or prevent people cancelling your turns with dummy ones.)

It would then report back instantly if the turn was uploaded successfully. (It could list positions like the current email confirmation.) No need to put the trust of your whole fleet in the hands of the sometimes rather iffy *** isp mail servers... (Mentioning no names here of course ;) but many (if not most) people have had at least one email go missing at some point for whatever reason.)

Mica pokes his head through the theatre curtain, looks at the audience and disappears.
Some whispering backstage.

Drums begin a roll.....

The crowd hush.

Curtains twitch.....

The crowd lean forwards in their seats.

The drum roll continues.....
