	Hi all, Like the title says, does anyone care much what the default ship ranks are called? I propose the following: Ensign Commander Captain Commodore Vice Admiral Star Admiral This version is consistent both with traditional BSE ranks (start as Ensign, max out at Star Admiral) and with the US/UK naval ranks which have traditionally been used in science fiction. Please bear in mind that each aff can have their own unique set of rank names. rob

	Default ranks should stay as they are since the politcal powers that be can change the names of the ranks. Doc

For instance, CIA Ship ranks are based upon US Submarine Command Ranks (with a few minor modifications). We didn't like what we had - so we changed it (after much discussion) to something that fit our profile. Same thing with our Political Ranking structure. 	It doesn't really matter does it? You can change the names. It's what they can do that matters For instance Hive will never use US submarine rank names!!!!!
