I was wondering if somebody could answer a question or set me straight? ![]() I have seen several hundred anti aircraft emplacements in starbases which were attacked by ground fighters and ground bombers. They seem to cause damage (just like RDB's) but don't seem to shoot the fighters/bombers down. It may just be my reading of the results. Can somebody confirm if anti-aircraft does what it says or if it just causes damage to the attacking GP? Cheers Jons - SMS

At present they are simply ground based units. There is some thought to making ground fighters/bombers operate in exactly the same manner as space fighters/bombers but with a ground range. Then AAE's will be converted to the ground equivalent of point defence. This will require some work but will certainly sort out some the problems we are looking at with respect to ground combat. The only point against this is that it is yet another thing pushing back doing the infrastructure. One thing about Phoenix is that no matter how much stuff is done for it, there is always more and more little things that take a bucket load ( ![]()

...do (or perhaps should) anti-aircraft emplacements work against space fighters/bombers too?

No, they do not - they don't even work against ground fighers/bombers atm. ![]() This effectively makes ground fighters/bombers immune to most starbase defenses... ![]() (Ducks back into the shadows as Mass Production lines start being retooled across the peripheries...)
