| Suppose that during combat all internal components of a ship have been destroyed but there are still hulls left and there has been no integrity fallure. So basically all that remains is a empty hull. Could such a derelict be captured by boarding? Or could the remaining hulls be salvaged? | |

| If the ship was not destroyed (i.e. neither blown up nor suffered an integrity breakdown) then it is still an active position, albeit heavily damaged. A boarding action is possible. Salvage, on the other hand, is only normally possibly by picking up items from the debris field that destroyed ships (and platforms? GP?) turn into. However, even if all internal items including bunks, quarters, bridge have been destroyed there could still be crewmen aboard. Like in GPs, they are assumed to have space suits and are not destroyed along with their life support. This means that even on such a heavily damaged derelict you could face real resistance to your boarding attempt. |
