Hi,

As I understand it, even if you know the ID of an exploitable resource, the only way to get the 10% drop, weekly change etc is to do a special action.

Could a standard order be added to get the details when given the ID?

This is useful for two reasons:

1) Check the current amount if you think you've been over/under exploiting.

2) Get the details for a resource you inherited from BSE (i.e. you were exploiting it at the time of the conversion so have resource complexes on it in Phoenix)

Currently you need a large chunck of text from the special to get the resource ID as you have investigate blurb.

Not sure about investigating what a starbase is exploiting already.

Hi there, what happens if you are running 6 or so starbases, of which 5 were inherited from other players and over the years the SA's that were done on them have long since disappeared? Do they all have to be re-done in order to get the info? Details have long since been pasted from one PD to another etc. biggrin.gif

Hi

I agree with Jons, I have inherited starbases and have no idea where the resources have come from, also there is the problem of having done the special actions in BSE and then I've coem to try and convert them to Phoenix Data and 7 times out of 10 nothign comes back or no resources is found (even if there was one attached to the BSE data)

This function just doesn't work well enough, not throguh programming probs, but through record keeping mainly.

I've just been doing special actions to find out the source of any unknown resources that any starbases I've taken over are exploiting.

Problem with special actions is that they cost money, for data that's already in the system and requires no GM involvement.

The main use, in the long term, would be to check levels remaining for finite resources. For example, if you're not sure who's been exploiting the resource, or how much they've taken.

I'd like to see an order similar to "investigate blurb" that reports the same information but takes the resource ID as the input, maybe "Investigate resource". To stop abuse of the order to find out resources that exist but were unknown charge people 100 credits for failed orders of that type - like tech manuals are done.

Oh I like that. Especially for the checking resource levels Rob mentioend. David can we please have a 'Investigate Resource ID' order? Please, please please?
