	What happens when a platform spots a ship? Does it just get noted on the next manually-requested update on a turn, or is there some way of finding out about it as it happens?

	Normally you won't be informed if a platform spots a ship and you have to wait until you request an update. Of course if a ship is on a platforms enemy list you'll get a battle report automatically!!!

	That's not quite correct. You will only get a battle report if the platform was able to drag the ship into combat, i.e. had sufficient tractor factors. A regular sensor platform with inactive lists, or simply any platform without tractor beams, will not generate a report.
