Just a quick question RE platform structure. It certainly seems possible to use different types of armour plates aboard a given platform, as part of the structure - but is it possible to use different types of platform hulls too? For example, could I have a platform consisting of: 100 Platform Hulls 200 Platform Hulls - Stealth 50 Asteroid Platform Hulls xxx Armour plates xxx Ablative armour plates So on and so forth?

I think that Ro'a-lith revealled more than he should have done. I would advise some editing. Nic

Actually, they're all publicly known items. Hell, I only knew about them because another of the guys in my affiliation ran a few TMs on the offchance of coming across anything interesting. "Platform Hull - Stealth" is actually a bit of a misnomer - it'd be more accurate to call the normal PHs 'Heavy Platform Hull" and stealth PHs "Normal Platform Hull", as the defensive mass between them and the ship equivalents is the same. Asteroid PHs seem to be another matter, though.

I've combined a 10 normal hull platform to a 200 PH asteroid in the past... It was via SA though... So ... it would seem to be possible to combine different Hulls into a single platform. GTDoug.

This explains a flurry of special actions on the subject. ![]()

And suggests they are not quite as public knowledge as Ro'a-lith believes ![]()

Only one way to find out - put it in SSS and see if anyone doesnt know what they are ![]()

... getting back on topic, does anyone have a documented platform with different platform hull types, where they haven't had to use an SA to duct tape the two types together?

no but I remember a special action a while back when we found some asteroid platform hulls which said you could do it. |
