Recently I had a ship stolen by Mr Large, and am working to reaquire said ship. I know that when I do I can convert it back to RIP via a special action, because it used to be mine, however I was wonder why we needed that clause at all.

I know a lot of people argue it could be abused because affliation can switch to PIR to attack someone then switch back, however the numbers stay the same and I'm sure most affilations would take action if it was proved someone was using PIR positions.

I just don't see the need for this restriction, and I think it harms the game. For one it removes a reason to attack pirate positions, in particular outposts.

Personally I'd be happier if people had to remeber what positions where used against them, that is what the posted list is for after all, but I was wondering why the system is as it is currently?

I strongly agree with the above.

I'd also like to see there be a few more options for things that pirates can do with ships once they've captured them. Large has shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that piracy can be made to work, but, there's never going to be that many people pursuing piracy because at the moment, it seems as if the potential rewards just aren't that great.

Scrap to patch is good, but at the moment it's via SA only. And, the idea of somehow being able to get the EEM registry of a ship changed is a good one, though I don't think that's currently possible. But, I just can't help but wonder if there shouldn't be just, more things, for pirates to do. I'm just... not sure what. smile.gif

They do add a lot to the game after all.

I can't imagine it would be that hard, I don't know how they store the data about a pirate ship but it still knows who owns it, so i'd assume you'd either set the ships affilation to the owners, or just remove the flag that marks is as pirate. smile.gif

Of course i'm probably simiplifing the whole thing massivly.
