| There seems to be a lot of confusion surronding how much armour a Platform can support. I've heard that it is effectively limitless, but additional plates above the max protection just 'burn off' quicker in combat. Can we actaully have a diffinitave calculation/number that tells us the max protection factors for Platforms please? 5 plates/hull or whatever. Also, it would be nice if this number (assuming it's that simple) was put into the TMs for the various Platform Hull types. This information would also allow us to tweek the Ship Editor to compile Platforms too. | |||

| Also, can a platform mix different kinds of armour? | |||

| If it's of any help, 350 ablative armour plates were required to give 200 platform hulls 120.0 depth. The previous week with 336 ablative plates showed an armour depth of 117.5 on the platform, and a further 14 delivered brought that up to maximum depth. I don't know for sure if the ratio is 1.75 plates to hulls, of course - but it appears that way. | |||

| Use the ship editor as a guide to how many armour plates you need for a platform. The more platform hulls you have the ratio to armour plates reduces ie you need relatively less. Andy | |||

| Okay.... when did Platform Hulls get added to the ship editor? I quess I was asleep for that week. That is exactly what I was after, so you can just design the whole thing there. Cheers Andy. | |||

| Platform hulls are not in there - use heavy hulls. I have not checked it recently against platforms but should be a usefull guide as the armour should tail off at a similar rate to standard hulls Andy | |||

| Oooh.. well they're on mine for some reason. And yes, they are the same as Normal Hulls from an Armour point of view. |
