You cannot remove platform hulls but you can armour - which I always thought was wierd.

It's a 500 hull platform, and it's in an orbit. I'd need a pretty big ship to dock it with a starbase tongue.gif

How many orbital docks do you have on that planet? That may be one way to land it so that you can use the scrap order...

The other involves an SA involving Naplians and cutting torches... blink.gif

I'd pile in a large number of big ships with massive amounts of tractor beams and use and SA to tow it where you need it. Not sure on the size of the ISR field you'd need though. Maybe a load of ships with enough spare drives to jump 500 Hulls too.

Platforms are not designed to be dismantled and certainly not for salvage.

Virtually all the reasons for this are game mechanics. It is right that they are built to be permanent features and it is right that if abandoned they remain floating in space for somebody else to occupy and it is right that if they are an annoyance they should be destroyed, either by standard attacks or through special action (might be denied under some circumstances).

Armour should not be able to be removed but should be able to be jettisoned. We will probably get around to sorting this out eventually.

Forgive me for being difficult, but um... why?

Starbases and outposts, if you are sufficiently determined, can have all of their items removed and complexes scrapped - removed from the game altogether. GPs can be removed.

Now even ships can have their internals ripped out and be scrapped for patches.

It's not like I want to scrap the platform hulls. I just want to move them from a system I am pulling out from to another system I am staying in.

If that's the way it has to be though... that's the way it has to be. Guess the next inhabitants will get a nice little bonus smile.gif

Other than the actualy scrapping of the hulls isn't this the same as platforms? you can move all it's contents as easily.

If you just mean you can't scrap hulls and you can complexes then I agree something should be done.. I'm happy to send over some ships and help you total it though smile.gif
