	Just wondering if many people have sent for an update for a political position? If so, were you charged £2 for the update? I thought that my political just paid a set weekly fee, but it's not looking like that on my account transactions.

	its £2.00 per update, same with starbases and everythin, you can pay an extra amount of money to get free updates of your outposts etc, but that doesnt alter the extra charge for your political (i dont think)

	I dont get charged for Starbase updates... it's £2 a week even if I get 2-3 updates a week. I presumed that Politicals were the same. There's a (closed) thread about this elsewhere on the forum and it mentions no charges for updates either for politicals or starbases.

	Politicals can be very expensive in terms of processing time, so I believe that this charge is intentional. There was some talk a while ago (from David?) about political and starbase updates having only the orders/between turns bit, not the manifest. These would then be free. rob

	ok. If you look at phoenix charges thread you'll see that political charges are listed a standing charge in the same category as starbases which dont get charged full price for an update. I don't mind if it is intentional, but I think we should be notified of any price changes before they are implimented? pah!

While I agree that the "spirit" of that list of charges is wrong, the "word" of it is correct (even if perhaps a bit misleading). Starbases and Politicals have a standing charge of £2 per week (i.e. you are charged this every single week whether you have issued orders or not), the difference is in the UPDATE charges. Starbases being free, politicals being charged (but I didn't realise that bit - thanks for pointing it out :)

The link I gave above explicitly mentions update charges for other positions (platforms etc), but nowhere have I ever seen kjc state that political updates would be charged at full price. yeah ok, it's only £2... but it's not a very transparent pricing policy... to the point of being invisible.

	I think politicals are due to change so that some/most of the report is only generated once a week. Any other requests for political updates (e.g. to find out an issue number so it can be voted on) will then be free. At least that's what I think was due to happen but doesn't sound like it's there yet.
