I've been building some merchandizing complexes and for some weeks now rock structural modules have been used. I don't recall RSM ever being needed to build merch complexes You built 1 Merchandising Complex (1024). Raw materials: 15 Basic Modules (410), 10 Structural modules (420), Rock Structural Module (430) | |

Rock Structural Modules are useable as a substitute for Structural Modules on a 3:1 basis, i.e. if insufficient Structural Modules are available the program will try to substitute the missing SMs with SMs mkII, then SMs mkIII, the SMs mkIV, finally 3 RSMs. I haven't seen the TM for SM mkIV yet but I am fairly sure it states: 'Substitute: 3 Rock Structural Modules (430)' In your case the merchandising complex was built all right and from standard modules. No RSMs were used. This is from one of my starbases: >Attempting to mass produce Platform Hull (90) with 40 factories. 40 factories produced 20 Platform Hulls (90) Raw materials: Metals (1), 400 Light Alloys (4), 200 Basic Elements (2), 200 Hydrocarbons (3), 800 Thorlium (20) In my case Zero metals were used as light alloys were used instead. However, there were no metals at the starbase. Obviously, the program omits the figure '0' when printing such results. The odd thing in your starbase is that the program had no reason to include RSMs in the first place, as you had sufficient SMs. Not sure why this happened. Stephan PS On the issue of omitting characters: The program seems to randomly omit the Period symbol '.' in descriptions, tech manuals and special actions. Not sure how or why, but it does... |
