Hi, I keep getting the following on Agent reports :- >TU 70: Find Quantity of Item {515} No item 515 found. Now I know that item 515 is Human Verteran Scouts. Its not a secret. Can Agent reports please include the name of commonly known items or items on your personal known list to save having to recheck some of the more obscure ones i.e. various types of tanks etc. Thus the report should look like :- >TU 70: Find Quantity of Item {515} 0 Human Veteran Scouts (515) were discovered.

"Sir, due to a typo on my orders you requested me to look for something at this base that I've never seen before. It's not here, but I've found out that item 1234 are Jump Inhibition Projectors! Cool!" ...probably not! I suppose this would have to be tied in with your personal database - only commonly known items and items that the controlling political has on his knowledge list could be named. "Sir, they're processing some strange ore at this outpost, don't know what it is." Then again, it's an agent/operative. Perhaps it should actually be possible for them to obtain information on hitherto unknown items and add it to the political knowledge so that a TM can be obtained? "Sir, they're processing a hitherto unknown ore at this outpost. I have included an overview for you." Of course, for this to work you'd have to find at least 1 mu of the item (to ascertain that it is really there and that the agent has a chance to 'see' it/get a TM on it). The item number of an unknown item could even come from previous agent actions...

I believe I said :- "Can Agent reports please include the name of commonly known items or items on your personal known list" for exactly the reasons you just stated. It would be nice to be able to ask Agents/Operatives to look for any new items though - that is something which is NOT common and NOT on your known item list. I'd probably tie it to the "Item type" first and if you get a hit then allow attmpts to identify it properly i.e. "Find New Ores" and if you get success (and only then) "Identify New Ore" which gives its name and item number. Also allowing Agents to attempt to get Tech Manuals of items in the colony they are stationed at would be the third step.

Found another slight bug in Agent reports :- >TU 230: Acquire Information {13} Acquiring support list information. Support list: Total TU cost for this action is 50 This action cost you 200 stellars This only occurs when its an empty support list so its not vital.

The find item type order is totally inaccurate. I have looked for the vehicle type (in triplicate) and been told that no items exist only to run individual items numbers such as Battle Tanks and RDBs to be told there are 100s of these items. I know that agent actions are inaccurate but completely missing 40k MUs on three recons is a bit much. Nic

There are a few other issues with Agent scouting too. Its too difficult to identify specific items at colonies. Say for instance I issue an order to find how many blueprints a colony has and I get a successful report saying there are 6 blueprints in the colony. How do I now find out what specific blueprints are there short of going through the entire list. Also considering the vast diversity of BP's its an impossible job to identify new blueprints. Also if a colony has some strange/new tech in it that an Agents spots its impossible to determine exactly what it is. i.e. a colony has Battle Tanks, Battle Tanks MkII and Phase Tanks (a brand new imaginary item). The Agent can report back that the colony has a certain number of tanks but there is no way of identifying that new item with the current Agent orders available. |
