I dont know if it can be described as a bug or not ![]() I've spoken to several "new players" and they tell me it can take weeks before one get set up properly in the game. A new player joins without purchasing a political. He gets a ship, sends in his first turn and waits ..... and waits ..... and waits. He then has three options 1. he drops out. This could explain the fair number of new ships sitting around in Yank. 2. He sends an email to kjc and waits ....and waits ![]() ![]() 3. He phones kjc. I had problems with my own setup when I joined, but I assumed it was because I was an "old" player returning .... had to find old account no. etc etc. I eventually had to phone to find out what happened. I know of one other person who had the same problems, who also had to phone. I know of a couple of others who had similar problems but managed to get in after a while. I am just curious if this is something that will be fixed. The people that drop without even testing the game are missing out on what I think is one of the best games around. | |

This is strange. A new player sends in a creation turn and gets a turn the next day. I know one player that has done this over 15 times, each with a new email address with no problems (and he is not even a veteran). I know some players have failed to get their email address correct which meant that their first turn was sent to the wrong address.... I now some players were already registered with the same email address they tried to start a new account with and failed due to only allowing 1 account per email address. The player would have been aware of this though due to an email explaining the situation. When sending emails, the subject is very important. We get thousands of junk mails each week. Most are auto deleted or deleted without being viewed. Subject lines such as "Hi!" and "Can you look at this" and "Help!" turn up by the hundred are unlikely to be viewed. Those that are looked at generally refer to a game or are from a known player or are in a format that is easily recognized as significant to the company. Sending your comments to phoenix@kjcgames.com is of no use either as this is the autoprocessing address. Nor is writing messages in the email to which you attach your turns. They are simply never seen unless I am looking through deleted stuff for something else and happen to stumble over them.... weeks and weeks later. This should be made clear, and if not, I have even updated our contact web page. |
