This is something that I've noticed for quite a while - not serious, but a bit of an annoyance:

I have been running a starbase that has a continuous Security Sweep in the Pre-Production standing orders for over 20 weeks. The Efficiency of the Starbase is affected as expected, but the Command Section of the printout shows the Security Crackdown of the Starbase as 0% since the beginning. Shouldn't this show the current security crackdown that has been applied to the starbase?

Cheers,

Have in increased the security crakcdown? If you haven't then why should it show anything higher than 0%. A security sweep is something different.

Oh yes. Have anybody told you that you are paranoid rolleyes.gif

Incidentally would you mind not running agents at SMS starbases. The last one we caught told us all when questioned!

erm - not sure what you're getting at here. From the Order Editor - Security Sweep:

This order does a secuirty (sic) sweep of the starbase. The % level of crackdown during the sweep increases the chance of catching an agent/operative but also decreases the efficiency of the starbase the following week.

If I'm running a continuous 50% Sweep, and taking the -25% Efficiency hit every week, then this should be reflected in both the Security Crackdown % (which should show 50% in this case) and as increased Starbase Security. Right now - all I'm seeing is 0% in the Security Crackdown after performing Security Sweeps as part of a Pre-Production Standing order. The Security Crackdown % as reflected in the Command Report should reflect the ongoing Security Sweeps - and HOPEFULLY take that increased level of Security into account as well...

Daily - I'm beginning to think it's a conspiracy to make me THINK I'm paranoid wink.gif

That has been rectified. wink.gif

Security Sweep
This order does a secuirty sweep of the starbase. The % level of crackdown during the sweep increases the chance of catching an agent/operative but also decreases the efficiency of the starbase the following week.

Agent are more difficult to catch with a security sweep than operatives. You can only do 1 security sweep per week.

Set Security Crackdown
This order sets the security crackdown level of your starbase. The value is a percentage and can not be greater than 100%.

0% crack down has no effect on security or starbase efficiency. 100% crack down doubles starbase security but halves starbase efficiency. Values less than 100% crackdown improve security less but reduce efficiency less.

A sweep is a single event that uses an enhanced crackdown value for the purpose of attempting to flush out agents and operatives. It is very disruptive so can only be done once per week. It does not however take an entire week.
The crackdown is a continual effect that does not attempt to flush out agents and operatives, but attempts to catch them when they make a move.

Hope this clears up the difference.
