Not a bug as such, but i cant research more than 1 copy of an item at once, i wanted to do 2 copies of a specific BP, if i set the orders for the BP number, amount of complexes, and value, for a second BP it automatically alters the 1st project, not setup a 2nd research copy. it really just needs a tick box (new project) or something along those lines.

Yeah - that would be a nice feature. Once a big research base finishes a project you usually want to churn out a number of copies of the BP's now available.

...or a tickbox and a field to enter how many copies? (so should someone be in a position to run off 10 copies at the same time, they don't have to submit 10 orders)

Want to do this at the moment, so would like to see this facility added. Perhaps a restriction could be that you could only copy as many blueprints that you actually have at your base. For instance if i only have 3 naplian marine blueprints then i can only issue an order to build 3 more. Just a suggestion. ![]()

I'd really like to see this - it would make researching multiple bps easier

I have also thought that doing multi BPs of the same thing would be nice. However give it some thought. Would you be happy if somebody with a huge research center was able to churn out loads of the same BP in a couple of weeks? I do feel that only being able to research one of a BP is valid. Otherwise say you have +2 from copying and +3 from a scientist. If you ran 3 of the same BP you are in fact getting one free. Being able to do this at the same time doesn't make sense. I therefore suggest that an option be given for people to be able to research more than one item per week. HOWEVER, they lose any bonus from copying and bonus from scientist. After all the other BP and scientist cannot be in more than one place at a time!!! Gareth SMS Vice-PD

again though if you have more than 1 BP to start with you would be able to copy that. i agree with the scientist bit however

That's a good point, but should you lose the bonus entirely? You might argue that it probably wouldn't apply to mutliple lines of research/copying but it should still be applied to the first copy per week. (Of course it could conversely be argued that the scientist uses his expertise to increase research by improving systems and methods "do it like this" rather than a direct "let *me* do it" hands-on bonus.) Incidentally, how does it work if you have 1 scientist, and several lines of research in the scientists field? Is the bonus applied to all projects or just one? (Or none?)

he presently applies his skills to all the research within his tree, so you do benefit even when doing more than 1 project at the same time, having thought about this, i dont see why a scientist should lose his research bonus on multiple copies, as you say, everything in life doesnt revolve on the actions of 1 man solely, and that knowlegde once set up would be easy to copy, and a scientist has the ability to communicate and handle more than 1 job. at your place of work you are required to carry out several operations of one sort or another, and i dont see why this should be any dufferent for our hard working scientist chappy. |
