I had enough heavy hulls to start a couple of 75hvy last week so put in the orders to build them. Got the following back today:

Ship yards can assemble 88 hulls.
Ship yards are building Predator (390):
Removing materials:
75 Heavy Hulls (80)
165 Armour Plates (450)
17 hulls assembled. 58 / 75 remaining.
Ship yards are building Predator (390):
Removing materials:
75 Heavy Hulls (80)
165 Armour Plates (450)
Short materials: 1 Battle Bridge (101)
17 hulls assembled. 58 / 75 remaining.

Why is the second one suspended? And why does the first one show that it will be finished in 2 weeks when, at 17 hulls per week, it will take another 4 weeks?

The ship hull totals now count per ship being produced independently, as per Mica and David's changes detailed elsewhere on the forum. For example, you are now required to have the complete ship equipment and materials to begin production of a starship - the ship BP matched up against the contents of your starbase and were short one battle bridge; hence production suspended. These items are removed from your starbase when the ship production begins.

As for the shorter production time... is an odd one, that.

It looks a lot like i was lazy when i chnaged the ships building - its a misreport rather than what is actually happening (i think). I guess it assumes that you are only building one at once. I will look into it.

OK thanks David. I couldn't work out why it added 17 hulls and then was suspended, if it wouldn't build because of a problem (ie lack of item, BP etc) then it wouldn't put 2 hulls together let alone the first 17.

not true - nothing has changed (as far as I'm aware) with regards to initial requirements to start building. So long as you have shipyard and blueprint capacity, you need a complete set of Hulls and armour, nothing more.

Oh, will bear that in mind - thanks Dan.

Just that I'd noticed items are now removed from the starbase on production of the vessel beginning, whereas in the past I could have sworn they were removed on completion (If some items were unavailable, that is).

you get two bites of the cherry - all the items that are available are taken at the start. At the end, an attempt is made to fill the gaps. But if you still haven't got the item, the ship is completed with an empty space
