I had a ship in A15 of a system, it had one order processed to jump to a neighbouring system. The ship moved to A10, then jumped.

Total TU cost for this action is 120

Just received an SSS, describing this as an implemented change.

Why?

Is this patch not intended to ensure that ships inside ring 10 are moved to ring 10 before jumping, rather than forcing all jumps from ring 10? rolleyes.gif

When i comes to touching the movement code it seems i'm cursed. Yes it should do this correctly now. ie only go to ring 10 if you are less than ring 10.

This caught me out today (Monday)

I can forward the turn if required

TU 200: Jump {xxx}
Move to Beta 14
Move to Beta 13
Move to Beta 12
Move to Beta 11
Move to Beta 10
Jumping to system xxx (xxx)

The only order that was issued was the basic jump. As you can see the ship was in B15, but moved to B10 before making the jump

Well, touch wood all seems well again with Squadron orders. Can't say for the jump ring problem, will test it this week if possible.

Hi.
Just received turns back and a squadron still moved from ring 15 to ring 10 before jumping.
Luckily it was in friendly space and they made it to their destination, but they shouldn't have moved to ring 10 before the jump!!! wink.gif

I did a squadron jump from a ring 15 yesterday, which took me to ring 15 in the destination system without any additional moves involving ring 10 - went to ring ten after arrival by design smile.gif

The Squadron was located in Alpha 15 of the starting system. The orders were:

Move to Star baseXXXX

The Base is located in one of the inner orbital rings.

My understanding was that the squadron would have jumped from the A 15 ring, then move to the base,it took 3 jumps to get to the destination system,so they ran out of Tus which I was expecting.
But they moved to the orbital 10 ring before they left the starting system.
The plan was for them to sit in A15 of the destination system hoping to catch enemy shipping until they had enough Tus to move to the base as per their orders and I could forget about them for awhile.

Please forget the above message!!!! wrong squadron!!! sorry rolleyes.gif

The squadron that had the problem had the move to starbase order issued.
They started in ring A15.
The destination base was two jumps away in an inner orbital ring.
I thought the ships would jump first then move in system to the base.Instead they moved from A15 to A 10 before jumping!!

Which currently works by moving in system first. It was only the strangeness of jumps (the order) that i fixed.
