Not that I'm making a habit of shooting up my own affiliation or anything. ![]() Printed on 24th May 2005, Star Date 205.21.2 Location: Straddle (177) - {Delta,7} DTR SHIP Shadow's Fall (3527) Targeting DTR Starcross (29227): Locked Target Attacking DTR Starcross (29227) ------------------------------- Round 1: 10 Photon Cannons - 10 hits - 449 [900] damage - 100% Round 2: 10 Photon Cannons - 10 hits - 511 [900] damage - 100% Round 3: 10 Photon Cannons - 10 hits - 505 [900] damage - 100% Round 4: 10 Photon Cannons - 10 hits - 496 [900] damage - 100% Now, this is an IMP ship that had been boarded, or, FET maybe. But, here's the combat settings for the Shadow's Fall: >|-Target >Lists-----------------------------------------------------------------| >| >| >| Naval officer in command, positions can be added to any list. >| >| >| >| SPACE ENEMY LIST SUPPORT LIST DEFEND LIST GROUND ENEMY LIST >| >| All GCS(10) All DTR(58) All DTR(58) None >| >| All IMP(51) >| >| All GTT(52) >| >| All FET(56) >| >| >| >|-Do Not Target >List-----------------------------------------------------------| >| >| >| All DTR(58) >| As you can see, DNT DTR was set. So, are the locked/targetted enemy lists over-riding the DNT lists?

It was a FET ship with hardly any equipment left. I would like to think it was poetic justice that you shot at it after you had captured it ![]() Definitely seems like a bug though! ![]()

your target was locked you wont break it unless ordered. this happened to me unfortunately and resulted in the CNF blowing up a DTR ship i had captured, the GTT kept shooting at it for a further few days meaning i couldnt move it ![]() still thats battles for you and the old "friendly fire" problem, so its not a bug...............

Right, so basically if there is boarding going on in a battle, it makes a lot of sense for ships to clear their locked target lists every day, otherwise accidents of this kind can and will happen? I'm happy enough with it being a fog-of-war friendly-fire type incident, because in huge space battles, I can see how that happens. If it was just a smaller battle, like, 3 or 4 ships, well maybe then it would seem a little less realistic for friendly-fire to occur. But, smaller battle, more time to issue the clear locked target lists order. I was just surprised it over-ruled the DNT list though.

yes your right clear locked lists when boarding. even if 3 or 4 ships, a ships captain is firing at a position because he has been ordered, a person in the military will not break the order until told to do so. thats how i would see it, ive just got to hope the GTT can coomunicate a bit better next time ![]()

Alternatively to clearing target lists you can select Retarget options to retarget every day. This would drop the attack

I assume retarget every day and clear locked lists would also drop the pin if there was one?

yes |
