Normally I use the offline editor, but rarely prepare all the orders at once. So I hit the "Exit" button and it closes, saving what I have done.

Now when I close it in this manner I sometimes get an error message,
"performed an illegal operation" followed by goobly gook.

although it appears to have saved correctly

Anyone else noticed this?

Does it always save what is done every time ?
Jerusalem
Using the offline order editor I often get crashes when closing it. I haven't noticed it having any harmful effect on anything yet though.

It seems to particularly dislike the 'x' for closing windows on the top right. But the 'exit' button causes the performed an illegal operation crash too. Followed by the gobbledegook.

I'll try to remember to copy and paste the error message next time it happens.

Also, just found out if you try and open the system maps while writing orders you get the same error and it wipes out everything you have done since it was last saved.

Was unable to copy the error message. Better luck next time.

The error message is:

I cannot say if that is the same message as previous or not, but it looks similar.

I get the following every single time I try to access the Systems information:

Then a very long Exception Info Screen (with 21 Modules) and stack dump which I can't highlight and copy. The Error Event Log reports the following:

Using Order Editor 1.4.0 and Opera 8.02 - tried using the OE 1.4.2 but it caused even more headaches so went back to the previous version. The OE before 1.4.0 was able to access the System information using Opera. What's changed in that module?

Mine also crashes every time I exit from it aftern entering any orders. The orders do get saved, but the program crashes blink.gif

Very occasionally it will also crash while I am entering orders, in which case unless I have exited recently, I loose all the orders for all the positions I have already done, (since last exiting the program), which is.... annoying.

Next time either happens I'll grab the error message if that helps?

Ditto Here. Doesnt crash every time but I would say 8 times out of 10.

HI,

In my experience, the crash that occurs when attempting to start up the systems map is an unrelated error to the crash on termination.

I have had crashes on termination many times, even though I avoid the menu option to start up the systems map.

Assuming that you do not call the system map menu option, I am certain that event when the application crashes on exit, the turns are correctly uploaded to the KJC server. However, I have never bothered to specifically check the content of the turns file itself. At last not on a regular basis.

When I have exited the program before an upload and it has crashed, on restart I have never noticed any lost information in the turn file. Although this is not a guarantee to the turn files safety, I am reasonably confident that it is normally saved correctly, and that the trigger for the crash occurs after the file save operation is complete.

I would like to add that I have previously reported repeatable errors in the display of items when selecting them from the orders list where in some order types, drop down lists are not set to match the item value in the adjacent value field.

And if you run 1.4.4 and return the say here what that file has in it - i will have a better idea what is going wrong.
