| As someone who uses the offline editor, and also fairly frequently changes the names of ships to try and make it easier to manage them there is one change I would like to see brought into the offline order editor.
When you rename one of your own positions you get a Turn report something like:
>TU 300: Change Name {New Ship Name} Your position's name is now AFF SHIP New Ship Name (#####).
It would be nice if when this turn was put through the Parser it would update the "Database -> Positions" part of the offline order editor.
At the moment if you rename half a dozen ships, you then have to manually go into the "Database -> Positions" part of the offline order editor and manually edit each ship name so that they are correctly shown in the drop down box of the editor.
Ironically, if someone else renames one of THEIR ships, and you scan it, then theirs is updated! (I know this is held in a different place ) Just a small thing I would think, but it would make life a lot easier for me
Thanks,

| Erm, has this topic vanished from the Forums somehow? I don't see it listed anymore?

EDIT: Seems to have reappeared once I put this reply in? |

I guess the urgent need to automate renaming his ships is due to the high rate of acquisition of ships nicked on his behalf by Large !! Or is this just a wild inference ?? |
