We noticed a few fuzzy areas that need a little pruning as a result of a very interesting encounter where pirates entered orbit and sneaked a ship out from under the Falconian’s beaks, only to have it counter boarded by the FCN and destroyed by the SMS immediately afterwards.

1. Boarding a ship currently allows counter boarding provided any one of the countless turns issuing the boarding action is run before the boarded ship on the next day i.e. not much chance of getting away.
Change – Boarded positions and the position successfully making the boarding action will be run prior to any other turns on the next day (provided that they do not run any special actions).

2. Multiple factions and support/defend lists can result in a pirate ship, having been successfully boarded subsequently being destroyed by allied positions as Pirate flag cannot be removed at the time of boarding.
3. Multiple boarding actions can occur when multiple affiliations become involved in the action.
Change – When boarding, there is a tick-box that automatically issues the change registration order for the boarded position. This changes the position number and removes the pirate flag. This option will be ignored for boarding actions issued by pirates (it is also only costs $5,000 – half the price of a standard Change Registration order).

The orders will be updated in the next few days.

very well done KJC for such a swift change to a problem

Presumably, Mica and David have considered that Pirate Large is likely to try and board his conquests in co-operation with allied non-pirate shipping and therefore save himself $5K operating costs.

I like the change, it gives players an chance to get their ship back, especially in areas where there are many ships involved.

I would like to have the following restriction added.
1. Somebody from the same affliation can counterboard it the very next day for free. Thus giving him the possibility for getting an sort of "You grab mine, I will send in the troops and grab it back"situation.

2. We also need to have an way to prevent pirates sending in an friendly ship to counterboard it.. What about the fact that counter-boarders must have some sort of relation with the victim (lets say, he must be allied or have been involved defending the ship??) that the original owner is informed that the ship is retaken by affl XYZ??

i disagree with you there sjaak sorry

all you need is 5 reboarding ships stationed in your own space and everytime someone boards your ship you send all 5, you have a 5-1 chance of your turn being run first

And, I conceed, not "an urgent change to fix something to do with nova cannon" as I had predicted.

Still a combat change though. Why was it considered so urgent as to need introducing before infrastucture, which puts a block on any game development far more necessary than boarding actions.

I lost a ship on Tuesday, as a direct consequence of the many-month, bug-filled online order editor giving it orders meant for another position. Is that considered less important, or is the editor now written off as beyond KJC's capacity to fix?

Free in the meaning no stellar costs.

The situation above Falconia has proven that even if you are in the middle of big warfleet with lots of ships with pirate as enemy you still can be captured while you have no chance of getting your ship back.

Let give the boarder some slack, but don't make it impossible to get your ship back. The rule that an boarded ship can flee without anyone can target it was a bit silly. Maybe good to make pirates an viable option, but its gone to far.

still disagree with you there,

that pirate who ever it was had made a lot of effort to get the ship in a very dangerous place, you had the option of shooting at the ship or try to as it leaves orbit

the ONLY reason you took that ship back last week was because of a slight alteration in the code which had REMOVED the leave combat flag, it that had happened 2 days earlier you wouldnt have been able to do that, its NOT something new, its something that has been temporarily removed
