When you change the name of a position in the database it appears to reorder them, but it doesn't actually until you close that window and reopen the database. It's a little hard to explain, but something like this.

Position A
Position B
Position C

If you change "Position A" to "Position X" the list will show as

Position B
Position C
Position X

But if you double click "Position C" it will still open up "Position B"

As I say once you close the window it sorts itself out.

Also, this isn't a bug, and I'm not sure what can be done, but the positions selection drop down menu on the "front page" is limited to only 19 characters. Might be useful if this was longer (or the interface was resizable/maximisable). Not a biggie just a tiny grumble.

I have experienced problems with orders going to wrong positions that could be another manifestation of this (Starbase orders being input for B but being for A when submitted). I had assumed my own stupidity the first time (250 factories deactivated) but when it happened again (lost research project, started research project not wanted) I was suspicious.

The only thing that seemed to be common was the fact that I'd renamed an Outpost in the database.

Probably just my eyesight though. sad.gif
