Platforms appear to be able to do all the usual scan orders except the population scan. I changed the order so that it could be entered for platforms and the game reported:

Can this please be changed so that platforms can use the order as I see no reason for preventing that one and allowing all the others.

Yes entering orders does not override the ames version of the orders
