Hi, one of my Caravels did something mighty odd today. Yesterday, ship was fine. Movement today looked a bit like this:

Move to Gamma 9
Move to Gamma 8
Move to Gamma 7
An asteroid impact caused 478 damage.
Move to Gamma 6
Move to Gamma 5
Move to Gamma 4
Move to Gamma 3
|-Planet
Entering orbit of

Total TU cost for this action is 209

You have no crew to run the ship, turn suspended.

And upon arrival in orbit of the planet, all 50 of the ships crew had all mysteriously disappeared!

The Asteroid impact did 400mus worth of damage to the ship. But, did it wipe out the entire crew and a terribly expensive Naval Captain, and then the ship continued on autopilot and orbited the planet it was heading to?

Confused. Maybe a line after the 'asteroid impact caused 478 damage and destroyed....' and then list all of the things it destroyed/killed?

Anyway. Mighty creepy, ship moving in to orbit of a planet, and the entire ships compliment strangely vanished. smile.gif

Are there such things as "Ghost Employees" and "Ghost Captain" etc. That would be an exciting twist. laugh.gif

Ghost employees... y'know, I'm starting to wonder.

Happend to me too... I think the "error" is in the way the program is set up...

When your movement starts it looks at the crew onboard and calculates how long it will take to get there. When it arrives it has another look at the crew onboard and calculates how many TU the following actions takes.... if your crew has perished inbetween then you arrive whereever you wanted to go as a ghostship!

Cheerio,

That's very interesting to know. Thanks.

It seemed just a little too odd that the entire crew had been wiped out by an asteroid hit that left the bunks and bridge intact. But, if it's happened to others, then it must just be the way things are.

We found a minor bug in the asteroid routine that while responsible for magazines failing with spectacular effects may also be responsible for the crew taking sustained damage. This has been fixed.

I don't suppose we'll get our crew back, will we? :-)
