i was aware that this could happen and wrote a letter to the GM today stating as such, and it was confirmed to me today on receiving my turns

when you know of a "loophole" in the game system mechanic it is better to notify the GM, i know of some others and havent taken the opportunity to act on them as it isnt what i would call being an honest player.

a GP is in the game to act as a ground unit, but basically if you have a GP on board a ship that has 1 soldier in it, drop it off in any quad, you then can embark all the salvage from any position, and if you have 300tus you can then do 6 per turn per gp.

this was NOT what a GP was designed for and it will be closed, i have been informed before my turn results today

i note however that my ships were embarked onto one of these said gps as salvage today by DTR forces in A11 Audrey, and i consider it unsportsman-like to act on a loophole in this manner, this is just my view.

as i say i had emailed the GM with my concern that this activity was happening before the turns came out today and have been told its a loophole

i did have ships there to gain my salvage back, but feel the DTR have acted without good faith on this matter

BTW im not calling you a slight cheat, but thought you might read it with that in the title biggrin.gif

Hm, I don't quite see why that's so unreasonable. Surely it just represents the soldier just sitting on the cluster of salvage?
Romanov
The rules for Embarking allow for embarking Debris check the order editor. I actually spoke to Mica about this and while he admits that this is a very powerful order it is legal under the current rules. This may change but until it does not mean it is cheating, it just we saw it first.
David Bethel
Embarking will not be availiable for GPs when the changes come through. You can still embark debris is your ship / platform is big enough.
Romanov
To be honest it was a pain after we had done it to get all the debris picked up since you had to disembark it before you could extract anything back from the debris and you could not pick up the debris directly from the GP.

I'm not crying over this one.

Just not being "honest players" or indeed "unsportsman-like". Nice. Thanks. Appreciate it.

Ever thought of talking to other players first before slinging mud publicly?

Oh and i missed "not acting in good faith" - great turn of phrase that one.

blimey just took the whole 9 weeks to respond like this......

what would be the point of talking direct to the player again? he knew what he was doing, and anyway i dont know who runs the position either.

reporting serious flaws is what this board is for...........

The point of talking direct to a player is to find out whether that player had in fact talked to the GM about it and what the GM had said. The fact that the player had talked to the GM would have avoided your derogatory public comments.

Talking to any person in the DTR would have identified the individual involved quickly.

Reporting flaws is what this board is for - correct

Next time I suggest you just report the flaw instead of including derogatory commentary.
Gandolph
the flaw had been notified earlier than this specific event, the flaw was then used by the DTR on this"not the first" occasion, i wrote the facts, i cannot say anymore than that.

thats where my communication ends on this subject.
