| I was under the impression, possibly due to my faulty memory, that when you issued a create gp order you got the created into back just after you sent in the turn. so you could also send in day one orders for it.. This doesn't appear to be the case anymore, although as i have no emails to verify this i can't check if it used to happen anyway. somoene help me | |||

| In BSE you could set up a GP and issue orders for it with the same batch of orders already. The new GP also started with a full week's worth of TUs. This worked only because orders in BSE were input "by hand" as read from a turncard. The GM would see the position number for the newly generated GP while processing the turn generating the GP, and apply the orders from the "blank" turncard for the new position. In Phoenix, this is not possible anymore. Like in BSE, you need a position number which you only know when receiving the first turn back. As Phoenix is completely computer based you cannot issue orders for a position the number of which you do not yet know. The other aspect that changed is that new positions including GPs don't start on full TUs anymore. In BSE it was possible to do some orders with a GP, then use the GP to set up a new GP from the same items, thereby effectively having unlimited TUs available. This was open to abuse and abandoned in Phoenix. New positions now start with zero TUs. Which also means that even if you issue orders to a GP on the same day that it is created (which might or might not be possible via special action) then this is still pretty pointless as the GP has no TUs. Might be useful for standing orders (enemy lists) if it works. So, generally, your observation is correct - you cannot send orders for a new GP immediately anymore. | |||

Which is why no attempt was made to allow orders to be issued on the first day even though quite a few ways of doing it were considered. There still is the issue of delivering to the new target (before you know the number), but i'm not sure if thats a good idea either (although i can see an easy way to do it). | |||

| I'd like the 'delivering to new target' option please... makes it easy to set up GPs... 1. Decide you want a GP. 2. Choose a lifeform.. issue the create order. 3. Deliver items to GP. Next day you get the first print out with your completed GP ready for use. With little or no TUs... No more setup orders needed. All done - easy and convenient. GTDoug. | |||

| I agree, I would also like the option of delivering to a GP the same day its setup. | |||

| Alternatively setup the GP before getting to the place you want to deliver to it disembark and then deliver | |||

| It would be nice to deliver to the GP and queue up orders even if it had no TUs. Otherwise, I sometimes forget why I created the GP by the next day :-) |
