Can someone tell me how boarding works when more than two ships are involved, or alternativly if it's even possibly. Say for example you had two ships targeting to board on the same ship, or even worse if you and someone esle both had ships trying to board. Do both boarding parties join forces? or is each battle considered sepearte and the control factors spilt three ways?

each boarding is sperate and they are run independantly from each other.

Does this mean they are run one after the other? based on the result from the last boarding, in which case what order do they run in, or concurrently using the full strength against each board attempt? I had assumed they were based in the four combat turn update thingy like the rest of combat. Also does that mean boarding automatially fails if the attacker doesn't capture it within the four boarding/combat turns then? And can they try again the next day? I assumed control factors followed over each day, like an outpost/starbase thing? but that wouldn't allow multiple indviudal boarding attempts. Hmm how does multiple attackers at an outpost work for that matter?

Yes - run after one another. If there are two ships and the first makes multiple boarding attempts I believe the second has to wait until the first ship has made all its alloted attempts. Presumably which ship makes the first boarding attempt is random. and yes - boarding fails if the ship is not captured in the four rounds, though if you have enough TU's you can make multiple boarding attempts with one ship....though the risk with that is that you will likely lose troops with each boarding attempt. Unless your making a boarding in 'safe' territory, having boarding attempts carry over to the next day would probably be a bad thing as you may not want to hang around to allow the cavalry arrive... |
