Hi,

Once you have established a base (outpost or starbase), the turn lists all of the available minerals and their ID numbers etc. Even if you do not have mines.

Is there any further point to prospecting in the same sector?

I'm not asking about special actions to discover 'special' resources - just the 'Prospect' order.

Thanks for any help.

The base/outpost list the best yields for minerals that can be found at that location, same as a prospect order but it list everything at 100% accuracy.

Thanks David!

I'll not bother with the rest of the prospecting then wink.gif

Cheers!

Just following on from the 'special action' resources:

I have performed terrain type SAs and found a few general things for resourcing - are there map sector specific things too?

If so - what type of SA do you do to start to find those? Or do you just do the same type of SAs as you do for a terrain type - but specifically state that sector?

I know there are some 'local' special resources, i'm not sure how common they are though as i've only found any in one place so far.

I assume you would be drawn to a sector by something you noticed in a wider search such as "areas of the forrest appear to be have been scorched clear of trees" and then you'd do a special action into checking out those areas, and so one and so forth.

Also i beleive you can do things like plant vines which would show up on a orbit pass of the planet, but just be a resource exploitable from one sector.
