Hi,

No idea if this has been suggested before...

I would like the market reports changed so that when you list by item name and choose the item it includes the Starbase name and the system.

Here's the example for Ablative Armour Plate (first item on list...)

http://cgi.kjcgames.com/1024/dataStore/mar...20Plate%20(460)

It'll read something like...

Dhalad Hur, Yank... prices and quantity
Bannockburn, Starling... prices and quantity
Sin city... prices and quantity

That should make it easier to find who wants what and who's selling what.

Thanks.

If you want a nice looking version ask steve, the database is the same (data wise anyway) as the den market database.

If i get the chance i'll try and sort something nice out some time.

I really didn't want to duplicate the KJC market database only add new features. I suppose this could be seen as a new feature, but I'd rather wait for a KJC answer. (That's more bandwidth usage as well smile.gif

If enough people want it then I suppose I could work something out. A more complete market report system...

Suggestions on a postcard...

(In case you haven't seen mine yet, it's here: DEN Trade Route Calculator)

i agree, it would be great help

Okay...

let's all shout together...

"Oi! KJC! - listen to us players and change the market report web pages."

After three...

One.. two... three...

I happen to know that a website rebuild is on the list of things to do, and i'm sure they will get around to it eventually, personally i'd rather have the infrastructure stuff done and let third parties like Steve's den market tool handle things until they can get around to it.

Theres always the possiblity a third party tool could be incorperated into the kjc site anyway so no wasted work wink.gif

Done. (Mine I mean, not KJC's smile.gif

Hi.
Steve I love the DEN market site.
Can I make a suggestion(I'm afraid it sounds nit picking! )
You now have the option of looking at specific affs markets..which is great!! biggrin.gif
Is it possible to have an option the see all affs markets..except aff etc, etc?.

For instance being in FET I want to avoid selling to the Confederate Bloc and DTR(on offense people! unsure.gif )
So I would like to filter out their markets!

Said it sounds like nit picking!! rolleyes.gif

Well...

Funnily enough I played with an option for exclude (same filters but exclude choice instead of include only choice).

I can make this work easily enough (well I can make it work wink.gif ) BUT...

what we quickly enter here is a multiple selection dilema. True that will be useful for the filter as it is, but it would take some real though as to layout (the coding shouldn't be that much harder). How do we set out the page/filters so that we allow a multiple selection of all affs?

If I put in "alliances" options (CNF bloc, IMP bloc etc) it means manually updating this everytime an alliance changes (or appears/disappears).

One possibly way would be to put a free text box where you could list alliances to include/exclude... Still a lot of hassle though.

So basically yes I recongise the use of that function, and was thinking about it already, but the problems outweighed the benefit for the moment. It's definately on the todo list for the thing though...

(I'm actually considering an offline version of it for all the extra fancy options, but I don't want to even think about that until after Christmas... (2014 wink.gif )

Checkboxes on a hidden div which shows itself only when the user decides to filter by affilation.

Possibly detect the decision using some kind of button/tab that opens or drops or something, rather than some niffy though control. (although if you can manage the latter please tell me the html happy.gif)

As we can rip the public starbase tags along with their names, can't we just list those ones as the potential choices. Not really any need to include an affilation without a public starbase at anyrate.

I'm thinking down that road to be honest, or even a separate pop-up page for all the filters. Like I say, post-Christmas I'll have a look at this.

Yes, that's how I was going to do it (the same as I've already done it for the Aff filter that's there). Needs some careful naming of options to auto-manage a dynamic list but not a big problem. Might even add an aff table and index by number (when I eventually get around to re-writing the over-hacked ripper code).

If you get around to rewriting it before i do, i suggest switching to fsockopen and doing timeout checks rather then fopen, or hopefuly checking the timestamp on the single market data file wink.gif assuming thats done.

I really don't know what i was thinking when i used fopen...

Hi,
is it possible to change the colour of items on the market lists that are classified as drugs. (like the lifeforms, perishables and perishable lifeforms).
Mainly cos i feel this would be handy for all,
But the other reason is that i made an "error" ( rolleyes.gif ) and have bought alot of a certain drug that i believed to be a trade good and now have no market for it?
anybody need any drugs? biggrin.gif i can deliver!

cheers
