Any chance of some sort of automatic confirmation of orders being recieved
being put on the cards? WOuld be handy.

This has been implemented in the form of a email
telling you which positions have been run which is
sent on the morning of the processing.

What would be nice is if the Order Editor provided file upload functionality, so turn files could be submitted to the kjc website. This would provide people with the auditing and reliable messaging they require as they can see immediately when the orders are submitted successfully.

(Of course this does require a change to the website to accept turn files via http submission aswell as via email)

The order confirmation email is good but would be even better if it had a section at the end for orders rejected.

For example, I've got a turn file that requests a position update for every postion I have. Since it was created I know that a number of outposts have been demolished due to not being needed but they are still in the update request file. If the email told me that the orders for these positions had been rejected (doesn't need to say why - bad password, not your position, no such position - as that information might be useful and abused by people) then I would be reminded to remove them from the file.

Also if I thought the orders should have been accepted I can go back and check the order file to find out what I did wrong (or raise a bug report blink.gif ).

To me, this would be great also, however, an automated e-mail to let you know the orders have been received handles just that. Processing of the orders and even checking would seem to fall under a different section. Otherwise, why not process the turn there and then <G>

It would not be that difficult however to do a check of in-coming orders to determine if an "illegal" worded order (moving a starbase to a different system..) was listed.

Just a thought

I realize that this is not about order confimation, but couldn't figure where else to post the question on the New Editor..

Can I receive a scan from another member of my affiliation and use the Parser to enter the information?

unsure.gif I've tried but without success so I thought I'd ask.
