I only recently rejoined the game, so I though I'd go through the training missions. After the researcher one (the opening training mission) there is an option to request further missions, which I took. I issued a SA that was reported as "Special Action/Balmoral/Return with Field Scientist & New Mission" I just noticed that I was charged for that special action, but not for the two following parts of the same mission, which seems a little odd. I presume there's some mechanism for tagging SAs as free, and it looks like this one may have been missed out. I notice that I didn't have an account number for the first couple of turns I sent in, so perhaps if I had not already had an existing account it wouldn't have been associated with an account for a little longer, which may have hidden the SA charging bug.

All Special Actions are handled personally by Mica, the GM. He makes the decision whether they are charged or not (there's usualy logic to it but I can't really categorise them). I would think that if a previous SA was to be charged and you didn't have an account then the SA would simply "fail" (so it would be reasonably safe to assume they were free ones). I'd also think it was fair to allow new players a couple of free SAs in the training missions, to get an idea what they are about (but don't know if that's the case). Does that help? (There wasn't actually a question ![]()

Ah, if it's just mica's call that's probably what happened. I was concerned that new players would get charged for what should have blatantly been a free training mission ![]() |
